In the end I used WD-40 which got rid of it then cleaned it off with some PC foam cleaner. All it did was spread the goo everywhere and the nail varnish remove stained the plastic a lighter shade of grey. Then I decided to use some alcohol and nail varnish remover in attemot to remove the goo. The sticker is made up of tiny squares and did not remove and just left bits of sticker and goo. I wanted to preserve both the stickers on the base of the unit so I decided to use a hairdryer to remove the shiny sticker - bad move! Is your Xbox chipped? If it is then you can simply drop in a brand new hard drive and run Auto Installer Delux 4.30 and set up your drive that way.
